Finale - Snocross Rounds 15 & 16

Milaca, MN (April 4th, 2023) - WOW. What a crazy snocross season it has been for all of us, from medals and podiums to injuries and hospital visits this season has been as exciting and it has been fun. 3 and a half months ago we kickstarted the racing season in Fargo with -20 degree temps and just wrapped up our season in Dubuque, IA at the Sundown mountain resort with temps up to 60 degrees! In the last few months, we traveled over 4,500 miles to and from races, had 13 podium finishes, met hundreds of new fans, and made so so many new memories. For the season finale we returned to Sundown Mountain Resort in Dubuque, IA for one last weekend of great racing before he get off the sleds and back into our cars for the summer!

Taven Woodie #873 - Pro Women

Last week in round 13 in Michigan Taven had an incident that injured her right knee, she spent a week doing every single thing possible to get back on the sled for the finale and be able to hold on to her 2nd place spot in the overall. Saturday she took 3rd in round 1, 4th in round 2, and 5th in the final. Sunday she went 5th in round 1, 3rd in round 2, and 4th in the final! Not bad for a girl with major damage to her knee! With these results, she was able to finish 2nd in the overall championship with 615 points, 34 points ahead of 3rd place. We are so proud of her performance on the track this season but to us, something equally important was what we found out Sunday. Taven was the recipient of the “Impact” award which is a new award from ISOC (the organizing body for Snocross) that goes to the individual who best represents what the sport is all about and the individual who went above and beyond this season. As a team, we could not be any more proud of the athlete and role model that Taven has become.

She goes in for Surgery next week to fix her knee but cannot wait to get back to the gym and back in her race car for the summer!

Oskar Englund #339 - Pro Lite

All the way from Sweden Oskar Englund joined the Woodies team for his rookie season racing in the US as a Pro Lite rider! This season was absolutely a roller coaster ride for Oskar, it is a completely different kind of racing compared to Snocross in Scandinavia and it isn’t an easy transition for them but Oskar rode hard all season eager to prove himself in one of the most challenging race classes in the series Pro Lite. Saturday Oskar took 9th in round 1, 3rd in round 2, and 9th in the LCQ, On Sunday he took 7th in round 1, 6th in round 2, and 6th in the LCQ. We loved having Oskar join our family for the season and hope that he has a great summer back home!

We would also like to thank our super awesome team that works so hard to make every race weekend possible. You only see the updates on the riders and pictures of them on track but we have an entire crew of people supporting each one from mechanics to our media guy to our chiropractor to Kym Woodie who makes sure we are fed and happy, it takes hundreds of hours of each of their lives to make our race team possible. We would also like to thank team Owner Paul Woodie for making all of this possible, without him at the helm none of this would be possible! And finally thank you to all of our Sponsors and fans who keep us going, week in and week out, your support means everything to us!

Have a super awesome summer -

The Woodies Racing Family
